The HAPPY BIRTH DAYS philosophy is based on the belief that pregnancy and birth should be celebrated as a unique and sacred event. Pregnancy is a normal healthy process, not a disease. Alanna Rubin, Licensed Midwife follows the Midwives Model of Care. Care is individualized to meet the different needs of each client. Appointments are scheduled to allow time for questions and discussion. The same midwife you know from prenatal care will attend your birth providing continuity of care. My concern is with the psycholgical and social well-being of the pregnant woman and her family as well as the physical. All procedures are explained as well as benefits, risks and alternatives so that true informed consent is obtained. Mid-wife means "with woman", I respect a woman's right as well as her partners right to be well-informed, to be respected and nurtured in the process of becoming a mother and a family. Study after study has found homebirth to be as safe a hospital birth with far less intervention. Waterbirth greatly reduces the need for pain medications and allows for a smoother transition for baby. Formerly, doing business as Treasure Coast Midwifery.
